REMAX RB-195HB Review; Style, Comfort, Performance

INTRODUCTION:

You can be forgiven if you haven’t heard of Remax. In today’s world where audio equipment for mainstream consumers are occupied by the likes of Sony, Sennheiser, AKG, JBL, and so forth, another entry would most likely be left out of a customer’s choice. However, Remax already has a wealthy portfolio of headphones fit for enthusiasts and the uninitiated. What we’re looking at here is the company’s RB-195HB – the higher-end model of the RB-200HB contrary to the standard naming convention.

Unlike the RB-200HB, the RB-195HB comes with some sort of design gimmick to its packaging for aesthetics. There’s a sleeve covering the upper half of the package, and below is a glimpse of the hardware itself. Of course,  specs and other details are printed on the back for those that are checking out the goods. Once you pop it out, you’ll be greeted with the headset itself, while the inclusions such as a micro USB cable, a 3.5mm audio jack, and some paperwork are packed inside a box of its own.

HARDWARE & PERFORMANCE:

In terms of build quality, the RB-195HB doesn’t actually trail far from the RB-200HB. There’s still the recognizable comfort and durability through the quality materials present in the headset, so you don’t actually have to worry too much about wearing it for extensive use and whatnot. What it does differ are on the visuals, as well as key button placements. The micro USB port also now comes with a rubber cover to protect it from hazards. Furthermore, do take note that pairing it with a Bluetooth device would require you to press the volume rocker simultaneously instead of a traditional switch, it’s not in the manual.

When it comes to the battery life, the RB-195HB still retains 300mAh of juice. It’s similar to the lower-end offering, but Remax rates it 4 hours longer, giving it a 14- hour continuous playback.

In terms of audio performance, the Remax RB-195HB prides itself with powerful bass and sound through its high-quality speakers with two independent speaker chambers. Through the listening experience, it’s easily noticeable that it’s ahead of the RB-200HB. You’ll get louder volumes as well as better clarity and soundstage.

In terms of features, the RB-195HB allows you to connect two devices at once via Bluetooth. For other Bluetooth headsets, you’ll have to unpair them to switch to another one, but with the RB-195HB, you can pair two devices at once. However, do take note that it doesn’t actually allow you to play from two audio devices.

CONCLUSION:

Pros:
Better sound quality and volume
Wired/Wireless connection
Solid build quality
Comfortable
Affordable

Cons:
Still no carrying bag included

If you can spend a couple of hundreds to ramp up your listening experience if you’re already looking at the RB-200HB, then the RB-195HB is easily worth the price. At Php2,500, the RB-195HB brings it another level of audio quality, as well as a longer battery life and neat features. We’re grand with the design, and we’re extremely pleased with its performance.
