|Shopee Highlights of 2016; 2M Downloads and 1M Listed Products|
It has been an amazing year for Shopee as they now have over 2 million downloads and 1 million listed products as 2016 ends. Orders from the platform have travelled for close to 600 million kilometers all around the country while moms have purchased over 1.2 million diapers online as well. Not only that, make-up orders increased by 25% when Miss Philippines won Miss International 2016.
Meanwhile, the post about Oniochalasia or shopping as a form of relaxation garnered around 48,000 likes and 41,000 shares. For branding, Shopee’s very own Pixie has been to 60 places this year, including the 2016 Rio Olympics with Table Tennis player Ian Lariba. Shopee also aims to inspire more entrepreneurs through a series of Shopee University Workshops to provide tips on how to increase revenue and maximize the Shopee platform.
As Shopee gears for its second year of operations, the company aims to be one of the leading mobile marketplaces in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. They are looking to list more products by inviting more official merchant partners, more payment channels, and improved payment options for delivery pick-up and Cash on Delivery. A new and improved user interface is also in the works.
The Shopee Marketplace app is available for free download at the Apple App Store and Google Play in Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
