HTC, the Taiwan-based smartphone maker, has made its come back in the Philippines official at an event held earlier today at Salon de Ning in The Peninsula Manila.

HTC is one of the most, if not the most popular brands in the days of Windows Phones as well as the early stages of Android devices in the country. However, they had a hard time maintaining that status when more and more brands entered the local market.

Fast forward, HTC plans to bring back its glory days, and to achieve that they partnered with Lazada, the biggest online shopping destination in the Philippines, to become its focal point in terms of sales. Yes, HTC will be sold primarily and purely online at first, but selling in offline channels will follow soon.

There are five HTC models that are initially being offered, they are the entry-level HTC Desire 830 and HTC Desire 10 Pro priced at Php8,990 and Php13,990 respectively, the mid-range HTC U Play with SRP of Php18,990, the upper mid segment HTC U Ultra pegged at Php26,990, and the flagship HTC U11 with a very reasonable price tag of Php36,990.

We will create a separate article on each device, but in the meantime, please watch the video above about the HTC U launch event. For more info, visit www.htc.com
