| Smart's Php2/MB Data Rate To Be Effective Starting January 2018 |
Eyeing to allow subscribers to do more with their data plan, Smart also revealed that there will be some benefits and changes that consumers will experience through this enhancement.
“We are enhancing our pay-per-use data billing model of Php5 for every 15 minutes of data consumed to Php2 for every 1MB consumed. With this enhancement, we will be able to better serve you and your data needs,” Smart announced.
Subscribers can now choose between two options for their data consumption whenever their existing data add-on or data plan inclusion has been fully depleted. These options include: No default data rate by registering to a Smart postpaid data add-on; or Enroll to the Php2 per MB data rate by texting DATA ON to 9999.

Smart also clarified that the enrollment to the Php2 per MB will only apply every billing cycle, if subscribers are not registered to a Smart postpaid data add-on or they do not currently have a data plan allocation.
