Through this partnership, over 40 McDonald’s restaurants nationwide have started accepting card payments for all types of Mastercard and Visa credit, debit, and prepaid cards, including PayMaya Visa cards and Smart Mastercard.

“This is digital technology at its most convenient, and we are working toward enabling more partners like McDonald’s to further build a ‘cashless’ ecosystem all around the country,” Manuel V. Pangilinan, Chairman at PLDT, Smart, and PayMaya, addressed. “We’re starting with McDonald’s today, but we envision a future where most of our transactions will be carried out with the help of a PayMaya account.”

In addition, McDonald’s revealed that they will soon accept PayMaya QR payments in its McCafe BGC Arts Center and McCafe Tagaytay Calamba stores, which will be followed by more stores in the coming months.
