Western Digital Launches 8TB Hard Drives with HelioSeal Technology

Western Digital Corporation, the leading innovator in storage solutions, recently announced that their popular storage product lines have gone extra miles in terms of capacity, now with up to 8TB for maximum and efficient performance.

The models that included in the storage upgrade are My Cloud, My Cloud Mirror, My Cloud EX2 Ultra, My Book, My Book for Mac, My Book Duo, My Book Pro, WD Red, WD Red Pro and WD Purple. All of these models have HelioSeal technology, a tech originally developed by Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, wherein drives are filled with helium for added reliability and efficiency.

The My Book 8TB will be available this month while the rest of the variants will be launched within the first half of 2016. Price wise, the My Book 8TB with model number WDBFJK0080HBK will retail for Php15,990 while the MSRP of the rest of the group is yet to be announced.
