Last night at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino, Vivo Philippines held a grand event showcasing the Vivo V5, the world's first smartphone to boast 20MP selfie snapper. But, to our surprise, the prominent Chinese mobile brand also unveiled another device, the Vivo V5Plus!

The Vivo V5Plus or V5+ sports a 5.5-inch screen fitted in a 5.2-inch body that is only 74mm wide, giving the phone a slim bezel than usual. The display is reinforced with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection. Moreover, it will be housed in a metal unibody that undergo a "Mirror Grinding" process, which, according to Vivo, gives the V5P+ "extraordinary appearance".

Like the V5, it will also feature a 20MP Sony IMX376 camera, but this time it won't be alone, it will be paired with another camera that has 8MP resolution, and its main function is to give better depth of field and blur the background. This makes me think that, if the Vivo V5 is the "perfect selfie" camera phone, what would be it be called? Ultimate Selfie? Or perhaps, Selfie Supreme?

The other specs revealed are a 16MP main shooter and Hi-Fi audio chip, which strengthens Vivo's  new tagline - Camera and Music. There is no mention yet regarding other info, but rumors suggest that it will be equipped with octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset, 4GB of RAM, 32GB storage, and 3300mAh battery with quick charging support. In terms of availability, the Philippine team told us during the press conference that it will arrive in the local shore in January, but could also be as early as December this year.
