GCash recently announced its newest feature that is set to change the way Filipino consumers pay for goods and services in the country. Meet GoPay, the nation’s first QR payment through smartphone.

Now available to anyone, GoPay allows customers to use their GCash account to complete their transaction by simply scanning QR codes displayed by merchants and establishments. Also, GCash aims to lead a cashless society through GoPay by giving faster, more convenient and secure transactions for both sellers and customers.

“Our goal has always been to make finance more inclusive by building a cashless ecosystem. GoPay QR payment solution will close the loop and drive merchants accepting GCash payments. We plan to extend this service from all types of retailers nationwide down to our favorite fishball vendor,” JohnRubio, CEO and President of Mynt, a subsidiary of Globe Telecom dedicated in developing payment solutions using GCash, said.
