Also known as Project Bass, the app enables smartphone users to measure internet bandwidth and other statistics. Apart from this, users can even see which telecommunications provider has the fastest internet connection on their location through the application’s virtual map.

“With BASS PH, we help empower smartphone users in the Philippines by giving them the tool to measure and log internet speeds. We hope this, in turn, will ensure that network providers in the country will efficiently and consistently deliver their advertised internet speeds and thus will pave the way to better internet service nationwide,” Wilson Chua of BASS PH explained.

BASS PH also tapped the government and telco giants to support the app, so, they can achieve the ultimate goal of improving the internet service in the country.

On that note, through the app’s gathered data, telco companies can make data driven decisions in upgrading their system. They can also reallocate resources, including bandwidth and frequency, to areas that need it most.
