INTRODUCTION:
Gionee – a smartphone brand manufactured by CellPrime – launched its newest selfie-centric device: the Gionee A1 Lite.
Gionee A1 Lite Hands-on and Initial Impression |
The Gionee A1 Lite comes with a tagline Super Selfie, Super Battery. True enough, the device is geared with 20-megapixel sensor with an f-stop f/2.0 with LED flash, and is equipped with 4000mAh lithium-ion non-removable battery.
As a selfie-centric smartphone, we’re impressed that the device is matched with a huge power source to elevate its offering. However, joining a very busy market, what more it can offer that others cannot?
Here’s our initial impression!
PACKAGING:
The Gionee A1 Lite packaging is composed of 2A USB wall charger, USB 2.0 to micro USB data/charging cables, and earphones. It also includes clear protective case, screen protector, cleaning cloth, SIM ejector tool, and paper documents.
Unboxing |
The A1 Lite is dressed with a plastic material that uses metallic paint. Although it’s a good-looking smartphone, let us not forget the fact that many smartphones on its price range have premium-looking design. It doesn’t appear cheap, though. The device isn’t big enough and heavy, too, allowing us to handle it with just one hand.

Flip the device on its back and you’d see its 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied with its LED flash. Its fingerprint scanner is situated right below the camera. On its lower part, the brand’s logo is located above the speaker grills.

The Gionee A1 Lite gives us a good viewing experience. It teases us with good features, as well, including its 20-megapixel front shooter and 4000mAh battery. It is coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. However, what appeared to be thumbs down is its dated MediaTek MT6753 octa core processor. It runs on latest Amigo UI 4.0 based on Android Nougat, though.
So far, the A1 Lite has a decent impression from us. Could be a good competitor, we’re just afraid that it has slower performance compared to other mid-range smartphones. If so, there are some devices available in the market that are more capable at Php12,999. But, let’s dig deeper on our full review! Stay tuned!
