Here’s our first take at the device!

So far, the P20 Pro is definitely the most premium-looking smartphone that the brand has to offer yet. Dressed with metal and glass, the device could easily get the upper hand if we’re going to compare it with other flagship smartphones in terms of its look. Meanwhile, it is big at 155 x 73.9 x 7.8mm, while it weighs 180 grams. With this measurement, the device can still comfortably sit on our hands, thanks to its curved rear and rounded corners.  However, its body is too slippery so we don’t recommend one-hand usage. We also advise consumers to use its protective case to avoid smudges, as the device has a fingerprint-magnet body.

6.1-inch FD+ OLED Display

Its front is dominated by its large 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED screen that has 18:7:9 screen aspect ratio and 82% screen-to-body ratio. Huawei has officially joined the notch party, as well, through the P20 line. The notch accommodates the earpiece and its 24-megapixel front shooter. Good thing, if you don’t like its notched design, you can easily hide it in the display settings.

Its fingerprint scanner, however, is awkward below its panel. Personally, I felt like it’s better if it is located at the back of the phone where we can easily tap it, considering its size.

USB Type-C port and Loudspeaker

The left side of the handset houses the hybrid dual-SIM card slot, while its volume rocker and power/lock button are sited on the right side. On the other hand, its USB Type-C port and loudspeaker are placed at the bottom of the device. And yup! It lacks an audio jack.

Flip the device on its back to reveal its classy glass construction. Its back is so shiny that it literally disguises as a mirror. It sports a triple-camera setup that is composed of 40-megapixel RGB camera, 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, and 8-megapixel telephoto lens.

Going back to its display, its screen is giving us a good viewing experience. We don’t mind its notch on the top of its panel, as well. The device is good for watching videos and playing games with heavy graphics, too. In addition, its brightness works fine both indoors and outdoors. We just have to note that its lowest brightness level is too dim.

Having the device for more than a week now, it can really accompany us on our daily tasks. In fact, it has smooth performance even when we are using it heavily. The device can handle multitasking activities and can run multiple applications at once, too.

With all the good things that we already said about the P20 Pro, we need to highlight that its camera performance brags its exclamation point! We already took the device on the road to better test its camera, and of course, it didn’t disappoint us.

We’re also happy about its power. Packed with 4000mAh battery with 5A Super Charge, it can last for almost a day when used as our primary device.
