| OPPO R17 Pro Launches in the Philippines for Php38,990 |
The OPPO R17 Pro boasts Triple Rear Cameras, the first of its kind from the brand, as well as the whole BBK Electronics group. The camera setup is composed of dual-pixel 12MP sensor with variable f/1.5 to f/2.4 aperture, 20-megapixel lens with an f-stop of f/2.6, and 3D TOF depth camera.
This is a quite different approach than existing 3-camera set-up from other brands, which are RGB+BW+Depth and RGB+Wide+Telephoto. So, what's TOF? TOF or time-of-flight, is a camera imaging system that resolves the distance of the sensor to an object based on the speed of light it captures after being reflected, thus giving the R17 Pro more information about the subject. Meanwhile, the front is equipped with 25MP f/2.0 module with AI Beauty Recognition for taking selfies.
Moving on, it flashes a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch design similar to that of the OPPO F9, and has a gradient-colored glass back. It has a resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels, and delivers a 91.5% screen-to-body ratio. Moreover, it has a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection, which, according to OPPO is the first smartphone to have it.

Underneath, it carries a Qualcoom Snapdragon 710 chip, which is based on 10nm FinFET process that has octa core 64-bit CPU and Adreno 616 graphics. It also has a generous 8GB RAM for smooth multitasking, and a 128GB ROM for storing apps and files. However, storage is non-expandable as it has no MicroSD card slot. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS version 5.2 on top.

The R17 Pro is the second device from the company to sports SuperVOOC flash charge technology, which can fill up the 3,700mAh battery with up to 40% charge in just 10 minutes. Security wise, it has In-Display fingerprint scanner as well as 3D Face Unlock.
The OPPO R17 Pro is priced at Php38,990, the pre-order period is happening until November 23, 2018 with the actual availability the next day after.
