PLDT has announced that all users who have an area code (02) will have eight-digit telephone numbers beginning October 6, 2019.

In compliance with NTC M.O. 10-10-2017, all telephone numbers with (02) code in Metro Manila; Rizal Province; San Pedro, Laguna; and Bacoor, Cavite will update its hotline to eight digits. PLDT also explained that users simply have to add “8” before their existing landline number to update it.

In case you missed it, NTC issued a Memorandum Order directing all telcos to shift 7-digit hotlines to 8-digit landline numbers. This move is to make room for more assignable exchange codes.

Starting October 6, 2019, all 7-digit landline numbers with area code 02 will become eight digits. For PLDT customers, just add 8 before the existing landline number.
