To make things more convenient for commuters, Grab launched its GrabFood service where consumers can easily satisfy their cravings by simply scrolling through their smartphones. Now, the company has partnered with new merchants to fill up the app’s menu, making it a go-to food delivery app as well.

Of course, as a tech-savvy and food lover, it’s impossible for me to not try this service. But, would it really satisfy the needs of my tongue and stomach? Let’s see.

As a quick background, GrabFood is an in-app feature that allows consumers to save more time and bucks through the help of Grab partners. Hence, one would no longer have to deal with traffic when buying to restaurants. All you need to do is wait for your orders to arrive.

So when I suddenly craved for my comfort food, I knew already that GrabFood was the best choice I had, considering that there’s no chance for me to battle out rush-our traffic.

Before opening Grab, I was already thinking of my favorite milkshake. Luckily, Macao Imperial Tea is on the lists. To my surprise, placing an order also meant booking a Grab driver to purchase my drink. Yup, unfortunately, users could not order to different merchants at the same time.

Good thing, I was able to choose the nearest branch. Waiting for my milktea wasn’t as long as expected. In fact, Grab estimated that my order would arrive for about 49 to 59 minutes, but it already hit my doorstep after less than 30 minutes. Imagine the amount of time that I just saved, right?

My first transaction was a success and beyond my expectations. The challenge for me, however, was to order my main course – a.k.a  Bonchon’s K. Style Feast – before I fully consumed my milktea. Remarkably, it also arrived before the estimated time of arrival.

Just like other conventional deliveries, Grab uses motorcycles as a mode of transportation to easily reach their destinations. I was impressed by their service, most especially to their Grab partners. They also allowed me to focus on other things, rather than going out to buy food. Tracking orders were easy, as well. From time to time, Grab would notify you about the status of your transaction.

You can easily communicate with your driver, too. For instance, Waze sometimes couldn’t locate my address accurately. So, to avoid confusion, it became my habit to always instruct my driver about my exact location. Personally, I think that other users must do this as well, but make sure that you'll do it nicely.

Overall, it was a great experience! GrabFood allowed me to save time and money for not spending it on the road. Grab has teamed up with various merchants that can surely satisfy my cravings, too. Some of my favorites restaurants are also available, including El Chupacabra, Army Navy, Sweet Ecstasy, Frankie’s New York Buffalo Wings, McDonald’s, Sunrise Buckets, Little Flour Café, Sisig sa Rada, and more.

We gave it five stars, and will definitely order for more. Good news, it has cheap delivery fee!
