However, it seems like its 48-megapixel sensor wasn’t the lone key selling trick of the device, as Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the Redmi Note 7 also comes with watertight seals. Through this, the handset can still protect its ports and buttons against water splashes even if it has no official IP rating.
Hence, the device may still survive some splashes, and accidental drops in water as its SIM card tray, USB-C port, 3.5mm audio jack, buttons, camera module, and loudspeaker were all protected by its watertight seals.

The company also revealed that the device gone through the same quality tests as its premium smartphones. In fact, they are even extending their standard warranty period to up to 18 months in China.
In case you missed it, the Redmi Note 7 boasts a 6.3-inch FHD+ panel, Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor, up to 6GB RAM, and 48-megapixel main sensor. It is powered by 4000mAh battery, too.
