| Xiaomi Showcases Next Gen In-display Fingerprint Scanner |
Xiaomi has already strengthened its presence in the smartphone market through its powerful devices that have the best value for money. Aggressive enough, the Chinese mobile maker can also come up with competitive handsets that can challenge their rivals’ anchors. They can quickly adapt whenever their competitors offer new innovations, too.
But this time, the company wants to take its lead as they showcased their next gen in-display fingerprint scanner. President and Co-founder of Xiaomi, Lin Bin, recently posted a video on Weibo demonstrating its new innovation.
The video revealed that Xiaomi has an enhanced under display scanner, which will allow users to scan and register their fingeprint with just one tap. After this, the device will now enable users to unlock it whenever they press anywhere on the screen.

Xiaomi explained that its unlocking area is 50mm x 25mm, which is 5x larger than the current in-display fingerprint scanning area, and 15x bigger than conventional fingerprint sensors.
Meanwhile, Lin Bin addressed that if their next gen in-display fingerprint scanner receives a great feedback from consumers, they will consider mounting this feature on their upcoming smartphones.
