The rivalry between Samsung and Huawei is really unstoppable. Samsung is still the biggest mobile vendor, however, Huawei is just behind waiting to steal its crown through its impressive smartphones.

Recently, the two brands introduced their foldable phones named as the Galaxy Fold, and the Mate X.

In case you missed it, the Galaxy Fold is a smaller device as it features two screens – one on its cover, while the bigger panel is on the inside. Meanwhile, the Mate X has a thinner body, and a larger screen.

When asked about its showdown, Huawei Mobile Business CEO Richard Yu revealed that they originally had a prototype handset that shares similar design with its rival. However, they killed it off because it "was bad."

Yu explained that they that thought having two screens – a front screen and a bigger panel – would make the phone too heavy.

“We had several solutions, but we canceled them. We had three projects simultaneously. We had something even better than that, killed by me,” Yu said.

Later on, he added that, “it was bad.”

Meanwhile, many critics believed that Huawei really has a better design but they also explained that it's still too early to decide which foldable phone is superior.
