INTRODUCTION:

Powerbanks have been an essential for tech enthusiasts and casual mobile phone users alike, and with the wide selection of these gadgets in the local market, the Thai mobile accessories provider D-Power, in partnership with Cherry Mobile, is hoping to make its mark with a fresh lineup that includes the S26 11,000mAh powerbank.

Its main selling point is the slightly bigger than the usual capacity encased in a light package, as well as the 2-in-1 lightning and micro-USB cable. Read on to see what we think about its performance!

UNBOXING:

The box contains the unit itself and a USB Type-A to micro-USB connector and unlike other brands, D-Power does not include any paperwork in the package, pretty much the same with other products in the lineup. The good news though, is that there is a red 2-in-1 cable built into the power core that can charge both Apple devices through the lightning port and Android devices through micro-USB.

HARDWARE and PERFORMANCE:

We have the black variant, but the unit also comes in white. It is very portable and light, measuring only 131mm x 69mm x 16mm.

It is made of ABS and polycarbonate plastic with a diamond texture pattern that lends to its premium look with the addition of an LED display housed in the top that indicates its remaining charge, so no more guessing whether you can still squeeze enough power for your gadgets. You can also see how much Voltage and Ampere is being put out, which maxes out at 5V 2.1A.

In terms of performance, it was able to fully juice up my iPhone 8 Plus (2691mAh battery) twice in a single charge. It left some power to charge my Bluetooth headphones.

The powerbank lacks support for Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 and Power Delivery 3.0, but it doesn't do so bad as it filled up my phone in a little over two hours using the built-in cable, which is slightly problematic because of its super tight fit into the body. Another downside is that the S26 can only charge up to two devices in one.

FINAL WORDS:

While the lack of support for fast charging may be a deal breaker for some, I find that the S26 is still worth your Php999 for a power core with a relatively high 11,000mAh capacity. This will especially appeal to those who are in constant need for charge because of its portability, as well as the capability to charge both Android and Apple devices.
