Samsung held its Unpacked event at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. And as expected, the Korean tech giant unveiled its new Galaxy Note 10 series, which comes in two powerful flavors – the regular Galaxy Note 10, and the Galaxy Note 10+.

Now, let’s talk deeper about these two smartphones to see which device matches you more.

PHYSICAL:

Samsung dressed the Galaxy Note 10 smartphone line with a striking aluminum body. With this, both handsets are a total head-turner even if the series settles for a simpler, sophisticated physique.

In terms of its design, the Galaxy Note 10 is available in Aura Glow and Aura Black color options, while the Galaxy Note 10+ also comes in Aura White colorway.

The Galaxy Note 10 series is available in two sizes, and as usual, its plus variant offers bigger dimensions. Both devices also showcase a slippery body, hence, a solid grip is highly needed. Its back panel can easily attract fingerprints and smudges, too.

This year, Samsung decided to ditch its Bixby physical button, which might be a good thing for some users who prefer eliminating it. In case you didn’t know, many consumers didn’t like this key, as it becomes a distraction every time they accidentally click it. Instead, its power button also works as its key to activate this feature.

The Galaxy Note 10 series, on the other hand, is the first Samsung smartphones to get away from the most loved 3.5mm audio jack. Personally, I don’t like this move because there are numbers of wired headsets that can battle out wireless earphones. Moreover, this will only push consumers to spend more bucks to score good Bluetooth earphones.

DISPLAY:

Both Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ sport an Infinity-O display. However, unlike the Galaxy S10 series, its punch-hole camera is thoughtfully placed at the top middle of its panel, allowing users to get their perfect selfie angle.

The Galaxy Note 10 is equipped with a 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with FHD+ 2280 x 1080 resolution, while the Galaxy Note 10+ flaunts a bigger 6.8-inch panel with an immersive QHD+ 3040 x 1080 display. The two handsets are HDR10+ certified, as well.

Knowing this, Samsung will surely enable users to enjoy an elevated viewing experience, most especially now that it gives off an edge-to-edge Cinematic display with nearly bezel-less screen.

CAMERA:

The Galaxy Note 10 and its plus variant almost have the same photography section. The regular model boasts a triple-rear camera setup composed of a 16-megapixel f/2.2 123-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, 12-megapixel f1.5/f2.4 wide-angle shooter, and 12-megapixel f/2.1 telephoto sensor. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 10+ packs quad rear cameras, consisting of the same three shooters found on its brother. But as a trick, it has an additional 3D DepthVision sensor.

For selfies, the two handsets are mounted with a 10-megapixel f/2.0 front facing camera.

New gimmicks include its AR Doodle and 3D Scanner that will obviously level up your selfie game. The AR Doodle lets users personalize their photos with dynamic drawings, effects, and animations that can intelligently detect their face. It comes with an impressive 3D DepthVision, as well, that can instantly turn its scanned images into a movable 3D rendering.

Other notable features include its Live focus video, Zoom-In Mic, Super Steady stabilizer, Video Editor, Screen Recorder, and Night Mode.

S Pen:

As we all know, Samsung’s Galaxy Note smartphone line is designed to maximize the productivity of artists and professionals. Now, users' handwriting notes can be converted into a digital text – which they can export to a variety of different formats, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Users can also customize their notes by shrinking, enlarging, and changing the color of its text.

The S Pen can now read up to six gestures, as well, which can be personalized for navigating Samsung apps and other third party applications like Netflix and PowerPoint.

BATTERY:

The Galaxy Note 10 is geared with an underwhelming 3,500mAh battery capacity, while the Galaxy Note 10+ is loaded with a large 4,300mAh stamina. For a flagship device, we found its 3,500mAh juice unworthy, as it is too low to accompany users all throughout the day.

Nevertheless, it’s good that Samsung equipped its handsets with 45W Super Fast Charging, Wireless Charging, and Wireless PowerShare, which allows users to charge their Qi-enabled devices using the Galaxy Note 10 series.

Our team wasn’t able to spend enough time with the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+, but we’ll update you with our in-depth review once Samsung allows us to play around with the series soon.
