Air pollution has been a recurring environmental concern in the world. According to the European Heart Journal, there are around 8.8 million annual premature deaths due to air pollution, a number that’s 6 million more than deaths caused by smoking each year.

LG Launches new line of commercial air-conditioners designed to combat air pollution
The new LG 1-Way and LG 4-Way cassettes equipped with a 4-step air purification process to combat air pollution.

In May 2018, the World Health Organization released a study that related that 9 out of 10 people breathe air with high levels of pollutants. In June 2019, UNICEF reported that there are 130,000 losing their lives every year due to air pollution.

Here in the Philippines, the Taal Volcano eruption in January made the metro’s already unhealthy air quality even worse.

As a company that values its role for nation-building and environmental initiatives, LG announced its new line of purifying cassette air conditioners made not just to cool an area but to also filter out the smallest particles found in the air.

The new LG cassettes have two variations: 1 Way and 4 Way Cassettes ideal to be used in hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and nursing facilities. Both of these have a four-step air purification process, including Pre-Filter, Dust Electrification, Ultrafine Dust Filter, and Deodorization Filter.

LG’s 4 Way Cassette has been tested and proven to work efficiently by the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) in Thailand and guaranteed with a CAC Certification from Korea Air Cleaning Association.

Based on the air purification testing result from the KACA, LG’s Cassette delivered a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 19.1 m2/min, which is higher than the standard CADR of 10.0 m3/min. The Cassette also produced a result of 63% Harmful Gas Removal Efficiency.

Another feature of the new LG Cassettes is its built-in indoor panels, which allow the air-conditioners to take up as little space as possible. These Cassettes are also easier to clean than other air-conditioners, making maintenance a seamless task.

These also come with an indoor LED lamp, a wired remote control, and are compatible with the LG ThinQ application for real-time monitoring of air quality.

“With our commitment to innovating for the future, we foresee that air purifying air-conditioners will become a necessary requisite for commercial segments,” said Young Park, LGEPH Vice President for Air Conditioners and Energy Solutions.
“We will continue to implement the world’s best HVAC system with LG’s innovative technology to preserve the global environment and create a healthy living environment,” he added.
