Tapped as our fitness buddy for months now, the device surprisingly exceeded our expectations. Really, its asking price can fool anyone. Nothing fancy, but for sure, it will help you a lot. So, if you're looking for a loyal fitness buddy, check this out!

PHYSICAL:

The Huawei Band 4e has a stylish and durable strap, which is available in two color options namely Misty Grey and Sakura Coral variants. Although it’s not the most good-looking fitness band that we’ve played around with, everything makes sense and impressive after knowing that it is made from recycled materials. You won’t get irritated wearing it while working out, too, as it only weighs about 15 grams.

The device is also water resistant up to 50 meters, making it an ideal fitness buddy during workouts, surfing, swimming, or more.

However, what seems to be its key design is its innovative dual wearing modes: Wrist mode and Foot mode. Unlike ordinary fitness bands, users can also attach the Band 4e to their shoes by simply using its buckle included in the box. You just have to clip it in your shoes, allowing it to accurately track basketball and running performance.

SOFTWARE:

The Band 4e is easy to navigate with its one capacitance home button that works as an all-in-one key. The device can also show user's recorded numbers of steps, distance, calories, moderate to high intensity, achievement reminder, single workout distance, single workout time, activity reminder, stand reminder, sleep time, alarm, message reminder, and incoming call notification. It has Find Phone feature, too.

Good for basketball players, it can offer users comprehensive running statistics, as it has six-axis motion sensor that enables it to provide accurate data tracking such as a footstrike pattern, landing impact, ground contact time, cadence, and more.

For a better experience, download the Huawei Health app, which will give you better access to your data.

PERFORMANCE:

The Band 4e works well during our tests. It can offer users precise statistics, but tricky movements can deceive your device. For instance, moving your wrists back and forth will be recorded as steps. Its Sleep Time feature can’t deliver exact data, too, as simple movement while sleeping might mislead the device.

The rest of its features performed great, though.

CONNECTIVITY:

Connectivity

Like other fitness bands, user can easily connect the Band 4e with their smartphones via Bluetooth. The Band 4e can be easily paired with your iPhone because the Huawei Health app is also compatible with iOS devices. Meanwhile, it’s obvious that it will have no issue running on Android devices

Its GPS tracking works fine, too, as it can accurately detect your location and distance.

Huawei claimed that the Band 4e can last for almost two weeks, while it is said to have 21 days of standby time. However, our actual usage suggests that the device can last for only two days when we’re actively using it.

Continuous pairing with our smartphone can shorten its expected battery life, too.

Meanwhile, it took us more than an hour to fully charge its battery.
