According to Acer Inc. General Manager for Notebooks and IT Products Business James Lin, the Acer Swift 5, expands the company’s line of “productivity powerhouse.”

“The Swift 5 is an excellent option for professionals who are always on the move and seeking a device capable of keeping up with them,” Lin said.

Among the notable features of the Swift 5, of course, is its compact and light 14.95 chassis which weighs less than 1kg, made from high-grade magnesium-lithium and magnesium-aluminum.

Although slim, the Swift 5 is able to pack within itself strong internals composed of Intel Core processors based on Intel’s new Xe architect, allowing the laptop to meet the demands of graphics-heavy workloads. There’s also a version of Swift 5, which has an optional NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPU. The Swift 5 also runs on a high-speed 1TB PCIe SSD plus 16GB LPDDRAX memory and storage combo.

Since it’s made to keep up with on-the-go professionals, Acer has equipped Swift 5 with strategic ventilation through three noise-free cooling modes, including silent, normal, and performance.

As mentioned, this notebook also doesn’t fall short on aesthetics. Available in trendy and gold-accentuated colors of mist green and safari gold, the Swift 5 is dressed in an all-metal body with a minimalist look and seamless angles. A unique part of its design is a specially-designed hinge which elevates the laptop when the screen is opened, paving way for a more ergonomic typing experience and more room for airflow.

For its display, the Swift 5 flaunts a 14-inch FHD IPS touchscreen, which promotes easy and intuitive user experience with multi-finger gestures and a generously large trackpad. Its display is surrounded by slim bezels, revealing a screen to body ratio of up to 90%.

On top of this, the Swift 5’s display is planted with an Antimicrobial Corning Gorilla Glass2, which offers not just protection from being easily shattered and from scratches, but also saves the device from odor and stain-causing microorganisms. Users may also opt to include an antimicrobial coating on the Swift 5’s touchpad and keyboard.

The Swift 5 also has decent options for connectivity, including USB Type-C, Thunderbolt, and USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, in addition to dual-band Intel® Wi-Fi 6 (GIG+) and Bluetooth 5.0.

Another highlight of the Swift 5 is its 56Wh1 battery which can last a whole busy day of tasks and can equate a 30-minute charge to 4 hours of usage.

In terms of security, the Swift 5 has an embedded fingerprint reader for Windows Hello, and also supports Wake on Voice.

While official pricing and availability of the Swift 5 in the Philippine market is yet to be announced, Acer is set to roll out the said device in North America in October with a starting price of USD 999.99, in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa also in October with a price point ranging from EUR 1,099, as well as in China in the same month with a starting selling tag of RMB 6,999.
