DESIGN AND ERGONOMICS:

The Marshall Major III Bluetooth headphones don't steer away from the usual Marshall getup -- clad in faux black leather, this device has smaller rounder earcups than its previous models, and Marshall also mentioned that they have improved the earpads to boost ergonomics. True enough, the Marshall Major III headphones are one of the comfiest pairs we’ve ever tried, and we believe that this would also appeal to those who aren’t fans of over-ear headphones, as the Marshall Major III fits just right and it’s light.

These headphones don’t come with a carrying case, but it has a collapsible design, which makes the Marshall Major III apt for compact storage. On the left earcup sits the well-known Marshall cursive branding, plus a physical button/control knob, which is one of the things we liked about this device. It’s simple, intuitive, and responsive -- pushing it to the left or to the right plays the previous and next tracks on your playlist respectively, pressing it up and down toggles the volume; three presses powers the headphones, a double click activates the voice assistant, and a quick push pauses and plays the music.

Another interesting feature of the Marshall Major III that’s worth taking note of is how it allows music sharing. When you use it with Bluetooth, you just have to plug the cable, which is included in the package, by the way, from the bottom part of the right earcup into another listening device.

PERFORMANCE:

As expected from a Marshall, the Major III Bluetooth Headphones gave us an impressive performance. Its 40 mm dynamic drivers, which the company claims to be custom-tuned for enhanced bass, smooth mids, and clear highs, definitely came into play when we listened to a number of tracks. Its soundstage is decent, and we feel like these headphones should appeal to those who are fond of rock music, as it’s capable of maintaining the balance well between various instruments that play all at once. We tried playing The Knack’s ‘My Sharona,’ and we’re satisfied with how the Marshall Major III Bluetooth delivered it with just the right punch. On vocal-heavy tracks like Adele’s ‘Hello,’ these headphones brought a full and round audio right into our ears. Santana's ‘Smooth’ also sounded great through these headphones, and we liked that this Marshall was able to deliver good separation.

The Marshall Major III Bluetooth Headphones carry the Bluetooth aptX technology, which must be why its connection is noticeably stable, even if its 30-meter range is almost maximized. We mentioned earlier that these headphones come with a 3.5 mm cable, and we figured that for calls, it’s clearer when this is utilized.

BATTERY LIFE:

We’ve had our fair share of headphones who quickly get their batteries drained, and to be honest, this is a very crucial feature for us. How could one enjoy whatever outstanding audio a pair of wireless earphones and headphones might bring if it has to be interrupted for charging? Fortunately, this isn’t the case with the Marshall Major III Bluetooth Headphones, which has almost 30-hour battery life. Refueling it to 100% again took us around 2 hours and 45 minutes via MicroUSB charging.
