Mr. Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of Huawei, shared his vision for global trade partnerships supported by open policies at the opening ceremony of the Intelligent Mining Innovation Lab in Taiyuan. Mr. Ren Zhengfei reiterated Huawei's willingness to entirely transfer its 5G technology to the development of the global ICT ecosystem, emphasizing his inherent faith in open trade policies as conducive to mutual growth.

Ren Zhengfei said, calling for open trade policies, "The US and China both need to develop their economies, as this is good for our society and financial balance." They all need this. Mr. Zhengfei further said, allaying concerns about the potential impact of 5G on a global scale, "We are open to transferring all of our 5G technologies, not just licensing production to others." This will include source programs and source code for all the secrets of hardware design and the know-how and design of the chip.
