| PH Digicon 2021's power panel underlines the importance of adopting cutting-edge technologies |
Yasuo Suzuki, President of NTT Global Data Centers; John Harrington, Nokia Senior Vice President and Head of Asia Pacific and Japan; Manuel V. Pangilinan, Chairman of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation; Dave West, President of Cisco Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China; and Nicholas Ma, Huawei Asia Pacific Enterprise Business Group Head were among the speakers at the digital convention's Plenary Session on October 6.
Pangilinan, along with other experts from the IT sector, shared valuable insights with the participants. For example, firms are now judged on their ability to adapt to technology, which is "no longer a luxury but a need," as well as their sustainability and digitization, according to him.
"We need to persuade top management that digital technology adoption is critical because failing to do so will render them obsolete." And, Pangilinan noted, "your capacity to execute a digital pivot today determines your value."
According to the MPIC president, who also oversees the PLDT Group, enterprises must adapt to innovation to gain from digital companies' creative ideas.
"We're seeing a business transformation across the board, and it's our responsibility to promote, if not compel, them into that arena." As part of their pivotal transformation, the enterprise group should supply solutions to these businesses... Pangilinan noted, "They need someone to tell them what to do."
According to Huawei executive Nicholas Ma, "networks will become self-organizing, self-healing, self-optimizing, and autonomous" as time goes on, allowing businesses to use smarter connections with more convenient and secure services.
"Technology is constantly working in the people's and organization's benefit." "We expect that as a result of this breakthrough technology, our clients and the general public will be able to live a simple, personalized, and secure life," Ma added.
NTT Global Data Centers, according to Suzuki, is always working to develop more efficient data centers while simultaneously ensuring sustainability. He went on to explain that, as demand for more capacity develops, NTT is well-positioned to lead the market, citing the company's long history of offering world-class networking solutions and services.

Harrington also mentioned Nokia's contribution in enabling the globe to act together by deploying secure and trustworthy essential networks.
He explained that 5G delivers digitization, productivity, and growth to industrial sectors experiencing low growth even before the outbreak. It is more than just a speedier experience for customers.
"With over 240 commercial 5G agreements, Nokia is off to a fantastic start in terms of leadership," the Nokia CEO stated.
Cisco's goal, according to West, is to create a more inclusive future by developing technology that enables people to participate regardless of who they are, where they work, or how they work.
"Our technology is intended to engage employees and is a key component of our company's culture... "When we think about next-generation technology, we think about how we connect the disconnected, how we build technology and innovation, and how we use technology to do the right objectives and provide chances for creativity," West explained.
