POEA uses ABIZO OFW app to monitor and respond to OFW requirements |
The ABIZO OFW app, an innovative solution that aids in the management and facilitation of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) app activities, addresses the government's long-standing need to monitor them from anywhere in the world and in real-time using mobile and social networking technology, provides this peace of mind to families.
OFWs can use the app to send out real-time emergency alerts and incident reports, as well as update their contact information and participate in surveys that will help government agencies such as the POEA, Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Overseas Labor & Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), and Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) respond to OFW concerns more quickly.
The ABIZO OFW platform has an integrated call center service for emergency response that can coordinate with various government agencies and foreign emergency service providers to assist OFWs in finding solutions. The ABIZO OFW app was created to help OFWs and their families feel safe and secure, especially during the Christmas season when subjected to abusive and dangerous working conditions abroad.
It also has a Pilot Red Button, which simulates the communication process of a request for assistance with a single push on the mobile app. This simulation aims to develop benchmark parameters and perform user experience research that will help with the management and supply of crucial support for OFWs operating in dangerous settings outside of the Philippines.
"We understand OFWs and their families' plight—how difficult it is to not see your loved ones and worry about their safety and well-being daily." The ABIZO OFW app is designed to keep families informed about their loved ones working overseas and offer them peace of mind that someone is watching out for them and ready to assist them in the event of an emergency or other need. OFWs and their families can relax this holiday season knowing that help and assistance are just a tap away thanks to our convenient mobile platform linked to the POEA," says Angelo Antonio Buendia, Chairman of Advanced Abilities, which developed the ABIZO OFW app in collaboration with Galileo Software Services, Inc.
On the ABIZO OFW app Facebook page and the ABIZO OFW Youtube Channel, you may watch holiday-themed advocacy films created by the Abizo OFW app.
The ABIZO OFW App is available for free on Google Play and the App Store. Visit and follow their social media pages to learn more about the ABIZO OFW App.
