DITO reaches 9 million subscribers and expands to new cities.

DITO Telecommunity Corporation, the country's newest mobile network operator (MNO), achieved another milestone by garnering more than 9 million customers during the country's 124th Independence Day celebrations. DITO's one-millionth subscription was reached at the end of June last year, just three months after the company's commercial launch on March 8, 2021.

"Hitting milestone after milestone, DITO is once again preparing for the yearly government audit and is confident of reaching 70% of the country's population shortly before July 2022, allowing it to finally go head-to-head against the country's two legacy MNOs in terms of presence," said Atty. Adel Tamano, DITO Chief Administrative Officer.

Despite the difficulties of the global pandemic, he continued, DITO has been busy ramping up its network roll-out since 2019, and has made its presence felt in more than 540 cities and municipalities, more than 110,000 sales touch points, built 20 DITO experience stores, erected close to 5,000 cellular towers, built more than 100 data centers, and laid out more than 30,000 kilometers of fiber cable to link the archipelago.
