HONOR Prepared to Dominate the Filipino Market and Conquer Huawei's Shadow

Since HONOR's independence and official return to the Philippines, the worldwide consumer technology brand has disclosed its future product lineups and its own Research and Development facilities. The company was able to invest more in its technologies without sacrificing the knowledge gained as a subbrand. Huawei formerly owned HONOR, except for the smartphone business.

With Huawei's standards and Google's assistance, HONOR is expected to provide feature-rich consumer products without a hitch.

Google Mobile Services as part of a system

Given the striking similarities between Huawei and HONOR products, consumers seriously doubt the presence of Google Mobile Services. The absence of Google has diminished the desirability of HONOR and Huawei phones in countries that utilize Google Apps the most. According to a Statista measurement, approximately 90 percent of smartphone users in the Philippines use Android handsets.

In October 2021, HONOR released the world's first smartphone with GMS, the HONOR 50, contributing to the brand's position as the third-largest smartphone vendor in China.

The HONOR's smartphone lineups include Google Apps and services, from its entry-level to mid-range to its premium foldables.

In terms of gadgets, the fourth quarter of 2022 is expected to be dominated by the HONOR X series, the HONOR Magic Series, and the HONOR 70 series of smartphones.

HONOR's ascent to the summit

According to an IDC analysis from the second quarter of 2022, HONOR is currently the leading mobile smartphone brand in China, with a 19.5% market share, up 88.6% from the same period last year and 8.2% from the preceding quarter.

According to IDC, the brand's overall posture in numerous categories contributed to its domination with the new HONOR 70 series and "helped to sustain its high growth." The budget-friendly Changwan 30 series and Play 6 series suited the needs of the entry-level segment, while the Magic 4 series helped Honor increase its market share in the >$600 premium tier.

On establishing an own and distinct identity

Recently, HONOR unveiled its first self-funded plant demonstrating proficiency in manufacturing premium-quality items.

"The launch of the HONOR Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park marked a great achievement in integrating our R&D skills with our manufacturing operations. According to George Zhao, CEO of HONOR Device Co., Ltd., "the merger enables us to better leverage our knowledge in both industries." The smart manufacturing facility has world-class production, testing, and quality control technology to ensure that our premium products meet the high demands of our clients.

Automation, digitization, and intelligent technology are the pillars around which the Park's key production capabilities are founded. The Park's production line is 75 percent automated, minimizing the possibility of human error. In addition, more than forty percent of the automated production equipment is developed in-house, demonstrating the Park's strong integration of R&D and manufacturing skills.

All critical equipment in the production facility is equipped with digital control systems, enabling HONOR to better manage the entire production line, improve product quality, and increase productivity.
