The Paleng-QR Ph program tries to get Filipinos to stop using cash and start using digital payments, focusing on the benefits of doing so. This work fits with the national plan for financial inclusion that has been in place since 2022. The idea has spread to the Project 4 Public Market in P. Tuazon, where GCash QR codes make it easy for market sellers and tricycle drivers to do business.

Important people like BSP Deputy Director Mynard Bryan Mojica, DILG Undersecretary for Barangay Affairs Felicito Valmocino, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte-Alimurung, and GCash Chief Compliance Officer Atty. Cef Sison attended the event. Mayor Belmonte-Alimurung asked more sellers, tricycle drivers, and small business owners to join the program, which is now running in eight public markets across the city.

Quezon City was recently given the Excellence in Digital Empowerment Award at the third annual GCash Digital Excellence Awards in 2023. This was in honor of its ongoing efforts to become more digital.

GCash is still at the front of the national rollout of the Paleng-QR Ph initiative, and you can see it at launches in key towns across the country. GCash's Cluster Head of Public Sector and Partnerships, Cathlyn Pavia, said that the company is still committed to making sure that its users are safe, secure, and able to use the app easily.
