Through GCash Overseas, Filipinos living in the US, Canada, the UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, Qatar, Kuwait, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia can now download and use the GCash app, even if they have Philippine SIM cards or local phone numbers in the countries where they live.
"We have expanded GCash beyond the Philippines because we know that the 13 million Filipinos who live outside of the Philippines need money," said Paul Albano, General Manager of GCash International. "Our goal is to equip global Filipinos with a safe and efficient fintech solution for remitting money home in these increasingly cashless economies."
Because GCash is available all over the world, Filipinos who live abroad can send money back home, pay their bills, and buy phone credits for their loved ones so they can stay in touch through chat or video calls.
Along with safe money transfers, GCash is expanding its services to include a wide range of other digital financial services, such as online payments, gift cards, and savings accounts.

To better meet the needs of Overseas Filipino Workers, GCash has teamed up with Ikon Solutions Asia, Inc., a licensed staffing agency, to make sure that the app makes it easy for them to access important digital financial services.
Through a partnership with Alipay+, the global payments platform, GCash has launched Global Pay. This makes GCash a valid payment method for over 3 million Alipay+-enabled merchants in 17 countries and territories around the globe, including those in the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, Europe, and the USA. There are no service fees or exchange rates for this service, which is an extra bonus.
Together with Visa, an international payment giant, GCash has released the new GCash Visa card. This gives GCash users another way to pay without cash when they are outside of the Philippines.
"We have successfully provided financial access to 94 million Filipinos, and our international expansion paves the way to serve millions more," he said. "We can provide seamless financial services to Filipinos worldwide thanks to our creative approach and strategic partnerships." This is just the start of our plan to grow our business around the world.
