Ren-Ren Reyes, President and CEO of G-Xchange, Inc., which runs the GCash mobile wallet, said, "This important step in GCash's growth is a big step toward our goal of serving Filipino users outside of our borders." "We remain dedicated to addressing the financial requirements of the estimated 13 million Filipinos residing overseas."

Users in the US, Canada, Italy, the UK, Australia, and Japan could try out a beta version of the service. Now that the BSP has given its approval, the service can officially start in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Spain, and Germany.

With this change, people in these 16 countries can sign up for GCash using a foreign phone number as long as they show their Philippine passport or another legal Philippine ID as proof of who they are. After being verified, these users can use the app to send money to their families in the Philippines, pay their bills, and buy load credits.

Paul Albano, General Manager of GCash International, thanked the BSP and said, "Their support has given us the freedom to offer our financial services to Filipinos all over the world." We're looking forward to adding more features like savings, gifting vouchers, and better ways to cash in.

Along with its growth around the world, GCash has added more foreign touchpoints by working with Alipay+, a global payments network. Some stores in Asia, Qatar, the UAE, the US, and a number of European countries can now be paid for using the app.

The new GCash card, which is backed by Visa, also gives users another way to pay without cash while going abroad. More than 100 million stores in 200 countries and territories accept the card.

With Send Money, Buy Load, and Pay Bills, among other financial goods and services, GCash is still a great choice. Innovative financial tools like GSave, GInsure, and GInvest are also available for users to use to help them reach their financial goals.
