HONOR brings a new stylish and strong smartphone option with the HONOR X8c
There's another HONOR smartphone that's scheduled for a local launch – the HONOR X8c, arriving in the Philippines tomorrow, March 11. While HONOR has been all about durability for its recent rollouts, particularly the HONOR X9c and HONOR X9c Smart 5G, it appears that the brand is focusing more on aesthetics for its next drop.

Here's a quick look at what to expect from the HONOR X8c.
'A stylish classic'
On the HONOR X8c product page, the brand referred to the device as a stylish classic. This description is evident on the HONOR X8c even at first look, as the smartphone is no doubt an eye-catcher.
Apart from the Moonlight White variant, which we got as a demo unit, the HONOR X8c comes in Marrs Green with an elegant blue-green hue and a checkered textured back cover pattern, Cloud Purple with a pastel fancy, fantasy-like rear design, and Midnight Black with a minimalist solid color.

Among the many things worth mentioning about the overall design of the HONOR X8c is its bar phone build with rounded edges and flat corners. It promotes a unibody look for the device and allows a good grip at the same time.

Bright AMOLED display
A vibrant screen adds to the beauty of the HONOR X8c, particularly a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel in 2412 x 1080 resolution. Its surrounding bezels are slightly prominent, but they seamlessly blend to the bar phone design of the device.

HONOR ditched the common waterdrop notch and the punch hole selfie camera on the HONOR X8c and instead utilized a capsule-shaped cutout to conceal the front camera. This makes the HONOR X8c appear more premium and modern.

The other nice-to-have features equipped on the screen of the HONOR X8c include a 120Hz ultra-high refresh rate, 2800 nits peak brightness, and a supplementary 1200 nits high-brightness mode.
A-game for AI
Through the HONOR X8c, the brand widens the reach of casual artificial intelligence-backed features to more smartphone users. The HONOR X8c carries AI Eraser, which allows instant removal of unwanted elements on a photo – something that previously required a third-party editing app.

There's also the AI wide-angle selfie function, another convenient AI feature on the HONOR X8c, which automatically switches the camera mode into a 90-degree FOV to fit more people in a group photo.
AI Photography is also present, supporting the HONOR X8c's 50-megapixel main camera by automatically adjusting the shooting settings through intelligent scene recognition.
Strong all over
As expected, the HONOR X8c carries a plethora of durability features, including a 1.8-meter drop resistance and 360-degree protection. HONOR also claims that their new device is designed with 3x improved screen strength compared to the HONOR X8b.

It's also a no bother for the HONOR X8c to be splashed with water as the device has a 360-degree overall water resistance and an IP64 water- and dust-resistant rating. Plus, the smartphone's screen works as it should even when the device is wet, thanks to its rainproof touch function.
Spacious storage
Memory hoarders will enjoy the massive storage that the HONOR X8c offers. By default, the device comes with 512GB internal storage combined with 16GB dynamic RAM.
Out of the box, the HONOR X8c runs on MagicOS 9.0. This brings several interesting UI improvements, including Magic Portal, an intuitive feature that allows seamless transfer of text, images, and files across applications through a drag-and-drop gesture to a sidebar.
