Infinix GT 30 Pro Review; Built For Win Streak Mode Gaming

 INTRODUCTION:

Infinix has brought to the local shores perhaps one of the much-awaited smartphones of esports fans, particularly avid watchers of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League. Starting June 23, Filipino gamers can have their hands on the new Infinix GT 30 Pro, the official mobile gaming phone of the MPL.

What does a smartphone that's widely used in a major professional gaming league and endorsed by the popular Team Aurora have to offer? Spoiler alert: an all-day 120 FPS system and more. Here's a closer look.

DESIGN and BUILD:

The Infinix GT 30 Pro is designed to look like a gaming smartphone – very obviously. From the special MPL-branded packaging sleeve, to the layout of its box, to the overall aesthetic of the device itself, it exudes locked-in gaming.

Most of the gaming-themed design touches are found on the device's rear cover. The Infinix GT 30 Pro carries what the brand calls its "Cyber-Mecha Design 2.0" with futuristic and mech-robot elements achieved through repeating lines and patterns.

In true gaming fashion, the Infinix GT 30 Pro has its own accent lights with its back panel further beautified by mechanical light waves. The Dark Flare variant of the device illuminates in full RGB, while the Blade White and Shadow Ash models give off soft white glows. The lights can be synchronized to major gaming moves like kills and damages. Outside gaming, they can also light up based on the beats of a music, when receiving calls and messages, or when the phone is in charging mode.

When it comes to gaming smartphones, a thin and lightweight build is considered a non-negotiable. Even with longer gaming sessions, grip fatigue won't be an issue with the Infinix GT 30 Pro's 8.1mm-thin body which weighs only 187 grams. 

A major factor behind this is how the Infinix GT 30 Pro is mainly made from polycarbonate plastic. The lack of a premium, metal touch is an acceptable compromise to make the device as slim, sleek, and sturdy as possible. 

A common set of ports and buttons surrounds the Infinix GT 30 Pro, including a power button which also doubles as a one-press access to Folax, Infinix's AI voice assistant powered by DeepSeek-R1.

The GT Trigger is a pair of built-in touch-sensitive shoulder buttons on the Infinix GT 30 Pro. It's the brand's way of providing a handheld console-like experience to mobile gamers, without the need for extra attachments.

The said buttons are designed to react even with the slightest of touches, as it has a 2160Hz touch sampling rate. This serves the buttons' purpose, as split-second actions are often required in gaming.

Gamers can customize how they want to use the GT Trigger. For FPS games like PUBG, CODM, and Free Fire, in-game actions include fire or attack, aim down sights, reload, switch weapons, crouch, jump, peek left or right, or use scope.

Meanwhile, the GT Trigger can be mapped to cast skills, attack, activate a battle spell, open the mini map or the quick chat, and auto-target the nearest enemy for MOBA games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and Arena of Valor.

For racing games like Asphalt and Real Racing, the said shoulder buttons can be used to accelerate, brake or drift, activate nitro boost, or switch the camera angle.

Non-gamers looking to get the Infinix GT 30 Pro can also maximize the GT Trigger. They also serve as camera buttons with instant access to burst shooting mode.

DISPLAY:

Infinix included a high refresh rate in its formula for a competitive gaming smartphone. With the Infinix GT 30 Pro, gamers can maximize an up to 144Hz refresh rate, which, from our actual usage, undoubtedly provides that fluid, immersive gaming experience.

The device's refresh rate is also highly customizable. Users can assign a specific refresh rate per app. There's also an Auto-Switch Refresh Rate option, which allows the Infinix GT 30 Pro to activate the optical screen refresh rate depending on current usage scenarios.

While we'd appreciate thinner bezels on the device, the Infinix GT 30 Pro has a stunning screen with bright colors and sharp details, thanks to a 6.78-inch AMOLED 1.5k panel in 122x x 2720 resolution.

Outdoor usage isn't an issue with the Infinix GT 30 Pro, as its display remains pleasantly visible even on a bright, sunny day. That's its 4500 nits peak brightness at work.

Longer hours of gaming and binge watching sessions obviously would cause eye fatigue at some point. With the Infinix GT 30 Pro, eye strain is lessened with its low blue light emission.

PERFORMANCE:

Sans the over-exaggeration, everything moves ultra-smooth on the Infinix GT 30 Pro. We spent a few weeks with the device as our main driver and not once did we encounter any stutter. That's on the Infinix GT 30 Pro's competitive set of internals, led by a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chipset.

Even on a busy day with many demanding applications running in the background, the Infinix GT 30 Pro can manage to maintain snappy app launches, smooth animations, and seamless multitasking.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro is obviously more impressive in performance gaming-wise. Among its best selling points is an all-day 120FPS system, which combines hardware and software masteries to achieve a level of gaming prowess fitting to a professional league setting.

When equipped with Infinix's special gaming accessories like the MagCharge Cooler, a detachable RGB fan, the Infinix GT 30 Pro can go on an all-day full FPS system. CAMERA:

Despite being a gaming device, Infinix didn't compromise the camera system of the Infinix GT 30 Pro. A 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL main lens sits on its camera module alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a rear dual flash. Selfies, meanwhile, are covered by a 13-megapixel camera.

However, there's an apparent struggle with night photography. Photos come with an obvious drop in sharpness, even with the Super Night mode activated.

There's also Sky Shop, an interesting AI-powered shooting mode that instantly changes the appearance of the sky in an image through various sky presets.

The Infinix GT 30 Pro can record videos at up to 4K, 60 fps. The device has an Ultra Steady Mode, which needs improvement as the videos remain visibly shaky even with the said feature activated.

Longer periods of gaming is made possible with the 5,000mAh battery of the Infinix GT 30 Pro, which can last around 10 hours of continuous mobile gaming and binge watching.
