ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has officially launched its next-generation handheld devices in the Philippines: the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X. This major hardware release is set to revolutionize portable gaming by merging a full-screen Xbox experience with the versatility of a PC.

Processor and Performance Tiers
Both devices are powered by the new AMD Ryzen Z2 Series processors.
- The standard ROG Xbox Ally (Php36,995) features the AMD Ryzen Z2 A Processor, focusing on ultra-efficiency. Its 60Wh battery is optimized for improved battery life, offering console-like performance at low wattages.
- The premium ROG Xbox Ally X (Php56,995) steps up the hardware with the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor. This chip is engineered for next-gen handheld performance, providing ample power and graphical fidelity for AAA games at higher framerates.
Both processors leverage AMD’s latest software suite, including FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), Radeon Super Resolution (RSR), and AMD Fluid Motion Frames (AFMF) to maximize framerates and smoothness.
Key Hardware and Software Innovations
The collaboration with Xbox focuses on comfort and seamless software integration:
- Ergonomics: The chassis is redesigned, featuring an Xbox-inspired comfortable grip with new palm rests and texturing for a firm hold. The Ally X enhances immersion with impulse triggers for richer haptics.
- Optimized Xbox OS: The moment you power on, you get a full-screen Xbox experience optimized for handheld use, reducing system overhead and allowing easy joystick and button navigation. Users still retain the full versatility of Windows 11 to access games and mods from other PC launchers.
- Next-Gen AI (Ally X): The Ally X’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor includes an integrated NPU that unlocks future AI features starting early next year. These include Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR)—which uses the NPU to upscale games for high-res visuals and smooth framerates—and AI-powered Highlight Reels for automatically capturing standout gameplay moments.
Game Compatibility and Launch Details
The Xbox team has developed a Handheld Compatibility Program to provide clarity for day-one users. Compatible games will display "Handheld Optimized" or "Mostly Compatible" badges in the library. Additionally, advanced shader delivery via the Xbox app allows supported games to launch up to 10x faster and run smoother on first play.
The ROG Xbox Ally X (Php56,995) and ROG Xbox Ally (Php36,995) will be available for purchase in the Philippines starting October 16, 2025.
