Acer Academy x DLS-CSB: Leveling the Playing Field for Deaf Education
Acer Academy has officially inked a partnership with De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB) to empower deaf Filipino learners. Through the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS), this collaboration focuses on providing the necessary hardware to ensure inclusive, high-quality digital education.

Hardware to Boost Digital Proficiency
To kickstart the initiative, Acer Academy donated five Acer TravelMate laptops to the SDEAS program. These units are specifically intended to help students:
- Access online learning platforms and digital coursework.
- Engage in blended learning setups efficiently.
- Develop digital literacy and improve long-term employability.
Sustainable Partnerships for Inclusion
Acer Philippines emphasizes that this is more than a one-time donation. Sue Ong-Lim, Managing Director of Acer Philippines, highlighted that education is a priority segment for the brand.
"Beyond providing devices, we are committed to keeping the partnership with Benilde in terms of immersion programs and partnering with students with disabilities," Ong-Lim stated.
The Acer Academy program currently boasts over 400 member institutions nationwide, focusing on the transformative power of technology in the classroom.

Bridging the Economic Gap
DLS-CSB Vice-Chancellor for Academics Angelo Marco Lacson addressed common misconceptions about the school's demographics, noting that many students are actually struggling financially. By partnering with tech leaders like Acer, the college can provide better opportunities for underprivileged learners and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
Marian Patricia BEA Francisco, Dean of SDEAS, added that the partnership strengthens the digital capacity of the entire Benildean community, fostering a more inclusive environment for skill development.
