Global cybersecurity leader Fortinet has officially announced the appointment of Luca Simonelli as its new Senior Vice President for the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Stationed at the company's regional headquarters in Singapore, Simonelli is tasked with leading Fortinet's APAC sales organization and scaling operations across diverse enterprise markets.

The strategic executive placement aims to accelerate Fortinet’s market share in the region as organizations rapidly transition toward unified network security and advanced threat defense systems.

Expanded Regional Mandate & Strategy


Simonelli will assume direct oversight of Fortinet’s extensive commercial footprint across key Asian and Oceania territories. His primary focus areas include:
  • Geographic Coverage: Managing business execution across Japan, North Asia, and South Asia—encompassing Southeast Asia (SEA), India & SAARC, as well as Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
  • Channel & Customer Relations: Strengthening ecosystem ties with enterprise clients and regional channel partners to boost deployment of integrated security architectures.
  • Growth Execution: Driving local go-to-market strategies to accelerate revenue streams and bolster Fortinet’s competitive edge.

Over Three Decades of Enterprise Tech Leadership


Simonelli brings more than 30 years of global technology management experience to the position, backed by a strong foundation in complex digital infrastructures.
  • Domain Expertise: Comprehensive track record spanning critical high-growth sectors, including cybersecurity, enterprise networking, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), cloud security, and managed services.
  • Returning Alumnus: This appointment marks a return to Fortinet for Simonelli, who previously spent nearly eight years successfully directing the company’s Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) division.
  • Recent Portfolio: Most recently, he served in a senior executive leadership role at GCX Managed Services, having built and scaled high-performing cross-functional teams globally.

Simonelli holds a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Milan.
