Globe’s m360 Debuts "Digital for Good" Program for Cavite Farmers

Globe Telecom’s multi-channel communication arm, m360, has officially kicked off its nationwide "Digital for Good: From Farm to Chat" community program in Naic, Cavite. Developed in close coordination with the Philippine Rural Reconstruction Movement (PRRM) and the World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), the initiative tackles economic isolation in rural areas by combining foundational digital literacy training with direct, free surgical healthcare.

The project aims to dismantle the dual barriers of digital exclusion and untreated health issues that frequently prevent agricultural and fishing families from participating in the modern economy.

From Farm to Chat: Building E-Commerce Skills for Agriculture

During the kickoff activation, m360 corporate volunteers spearheaded interactive, half-day digital literacy masterclasses specifically tailored for local crop farmers and fisherfolk. The curriculum focused on three core operational modules designed to transition traditional trade into mobile e-commerce:
  • Ibenta Mo Online (Digital Product Showcase): Training participants to take high-quality product photos using standard mobile phones and write clear digital descriptions for social platforms like Facebook.
  • Kumita sa Chat (Mobile Order Processing): Utilizing scripts and mock chat templates to handle incoming customer orders, confirm digital payments, and orchestrate logistics using common channels like Viber and SMS.
  • Huwag Matakot sa Internet (Digital Safety Fundamentals): Educating rural entrepreneurs on basic cybersecurity practices, such as vetting fake buyers and validating online funds transfer receipts before releasing raw inventory.

"Rural farming and fishing communities face two compounding barriers - limited digital access and untreated health conditions - that hold them back from fully participating in the economy," explained Ramon ‘Mon’ Hirang, m360 President and CEO. "Our mission is to enable every Filipino community to connect, communicate, and grow."

On-Ground Medical Mission Clears Surgical Backlog

To address critical healthcare needs alongside technical training, m360 integrated a mobile medical mission executed by WSFP's licensed volunteer surgeons, nurses, and clinical specialists.

The medical team pre-screened and administered free minor surgical procedures to 150 low-income patients right on site during the afternoon leg of the outreach program. The local deployment received public backing from municipal leaders, including Naic Mayor Rommel Magbitang, who attended the launch event.

Structural Alliances for Long-Term Nationwide Rollouts

The Cavite event marks the opening chapter of a wider nationwide deployment planned across various rural provinces in Luzon and adjacent island regions. The program relies on structured partner roles:
  • m360: Leverages its corporate framework as a leading Communications Platform as a Service (CPaaS) provider under Brave Connective Holdings, Inc. (a Globe Telecom portfolio company) to bridge the digital divide.
  • PRRM: Outfitted with over 70 years of grassroots development experience, the country's oldest NGO network connects corporate organizers directly to rural farming cooperatives and localized MSMEs.
  • WSFP: An SEC-registered non-profit organization that deploys specialized clinical units to clear regional medical backlogs in vulnerable sectors.
