O+ USA 360 Unboxing and Review, Full Circle
The O+ 360 is one of the highly anticipated device of Oplus USA, a member of the newest series of smartphone of the same name wherein you can find the latest innovation from the company, the back touch technology.
One evidence of the popularity of the O+ 360 is the high traffic it sends to our blog, we believed this is because of the O+ breakthrough in touch technology, something that is new to most Filipino consumers.
CPU- Z Info
The 360 sports a 5-inch IPS display powered by the ever-reliable quad core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz each. In terms of multitasking, it has 1GB of RAM to smoothly handle several apps at the same time. Meanwhile, there is an 8GB of ROM for your media files, plus you can insert a micro SD card for memory expansion.
The packaging is a bit different from what we have usually seen from O+, this time it is red in color and you need to pull out the internal box from the side. The package consists of the unit, battery, charger, USB cable, wired headset, warranty card and user manual. O+ is also generous enough to throw in a FREE screen protector and 4GB micro SD card.
The front is fully laminated with glass, at the lower part you will see the capacitive menu, home and back keys. Above them is the 5-inch display followed by the upper bezel that holds the secondary camera, earpiece grill and hidden sensors.
The back is made of plastic with matte finish, the main camera can be found on the upper left corner and directly below it is the LED flash. Meanwhile, the company logo is located slightly above the loudspeaker grill. The part where there is lots of trigonometric symbols is the place where you can rest your finger to control your phone from the back.

Removing the back cover will reveal the micro SD slot, the micro SIM slot and the regular SIM slot. Here you will also find the contact points that are matched on the contact pads found at the back of the cover. Speaking of cover, the small rectangular black pad is the component that makes the back touch technology possible.
At the bottom you will find the primary microphone while the top holds both the 3.5mm audio jack and the micro USB port.
The volume rocker is placed on the left side while the power button is located on the right side.
The O+ 360 has a similar design to most mid to high-end devices of Oplus, a rectangular touch phone with rounded corners. In terms of build quality, there is not much to complain about.
The 360 has 5-inch display with IPS technology and qHD (960x540) resolution and supports up to 5-point touch, the viewing angles are also good with enough brightness.
The sensors on this device includes accelerometer, proximity, light, orientation and magnetometer. All of them are functioning properly during Android Sensor Box and CPU-Z testing as well as in real life application.

Quadrant - 7,152
Vellamo: Browser - 1,866, Multicore - 1,186 & Metal - 758
NenaMark2 - 55.7fps
The benchmark results are as expected, they are on the same level with other 1.3GHz quad core MediaTek MT6582 devices.
The 360 runs on almost stock Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS having the same look and feel with other O+ phones. Upon first boot or after you do a factory reset, it will guide you for basic phone set-up.
As a phone, all the basic functions are there such as telephony, call logs, phonebook, messaging and email. All of them are working as they should, no issue or problem encountered during more than a week of use.
The gallery lists all the pictures and videos on the device, both from the internal and external storage. It has a built in photo editor and video trimming apps.
Video Player, Music Player and FM Radio:
Video player, music player and FM radio
The video player supports different file types and can play up to 1080p video, it is a very basic app, so if you need a more sophisticated player, you can go to Play Store and download one that fits your needs. Meanwhile, the music player is the same O+ music interface found in 8.17, Fab GO and more. On the other hand, the FM radio needs a connected antenna before you can even use it.
Camera and Video:
Camera and Video
The camera and video share the same interface that we are very familiar with. Their shutter buttons are placed side by side at the lower part of the interface in between the settings button and thumbnail icon. There are several ways on how you can capture a photo, by pressing the on-screen shutter, gesture, voice, smile, timer and of course by using the back touch technology. The last one is relatively useful and convenient, especially when doing a selfie or groupie.

Night with flash
The main camera has an 8MP sensor while in the front there is a 5MP secondary camera, both of them produce relatively good photos with ample resolved details. During low light shots, we recommend the use of flash in order for the resulting image to look more natural.
Sample Video - 720p
The back camera can shoot videos up to 1080p resolution. The video quality is good, however, the frame rate is only 15fps.
The browser is the stock Android app, pages load quickly, even those with heavy scripting and lots of images. Incognito mode is not supported, so if you want this feature and other functions, you may want to download another browser in the Play Store.

Storage and Install Location
Playing games on the O+ 360 whether graphics intensive or not of are generally smooth, there is little to no chug at all, the loading time is fast too. The games can also be moved to external storage, you can do it manually or automatically by setting the preferred install location to memory card.
The usual sets of connectivity are there, dual SIM with HSPA+ support, tethering and portable hotspot, WiFi, Bluetooth, wireless display and wireless printing. It also supports OTG function, wireless mouse and 32GB flash drive are tested to be working properly.
O+ Air Share
On top of usual productivity tools, namely clock, calendar, calculator, file manager, sound recorder and to do, there is also the O+ Air Share, the company's own cloud solution for your photos, videos and other files. It is FREE to use with 15GB of allocated storage space.
With A-GPS data pre-loaded, the 360 able to get a satellite lock in almost an instant with high accuracy.
The O+ 360 has 2000mAh battery, it gives a very good result in our video playback test having more than 7 hours of continuous playback.
The key selling point of the O+ 360 is the back touch technology, this feature can be enabled or disabled under the system settings. It gives several functions, four in total, first is the double tap to launch the apps, based on my own experience it is very responsive and accurate. Second is the navigation, when enabled, you can use the back touch to navigate on the homescreen, app drawer, browser and more.
Another function is the double click to unlock, when the phone is locked and you touch the back panel twice, it will unlock the phone. Last is the camera function, to take a selfie, touch and hold the back plate, then when you felt the vibration, let it go to take the shot.
Aside from the back touch technology and Air Share, other O+ Innovations are present in the 360 such as Air Shuffle, Mobile Anti-theft and Doodle Controls.

Apart from Gmail, other Google apps are also present.
The competition in the smartphone market in the country is very stiff, it is really hard for a brand and their products to standout. O+ USA knows this, that is why they continue to re-invent their devices and the latest innovation is the back touch technology.
This separates the O+ 360 among the crowd and with the help of the touch technology it is continuously gaining grounds. Apart from that, the O+ 360 is a solid performer too, a smooth UI navigation, above average still camera performance and a very good battery life.
