O+ USA 360 Unboxing and Review, Full Circle |
INTRODUCTION:
The O+ 360 is one of the highly anticipated device of Oplus USA, a member of the newest series of smartphone of the same name wherein you can find the latest innovation from the company, the back touch technology.
One evidence of the popularity of the O+ 360 is the high traffic it sends to our blog, we believed this is because of the O+ breakthrough in touch technology, something that is new to most Filipino consumers.
CPU- Z Info |
The 360 sports a 5-inch IPS display powered by the ever-reliable quad core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz each. Retail Package |
The packaging is a bit different from what we have usually seen from O+, this time it is red in color and you need to pull out the internal box from the side. The package consists of the unit, battery, charger, USB cable, wired headset, warranty card and user manual. O+ is also generous enough to throw in a FREE screen protector and 4GB micro SD card.
HARDWARE:
Front |
The front is fully laminated with glass, at the lower part you will see the capacitive menu, home and back keys. Above them is the 5-inch display followed by the upper bezel that holds the secondary camera, earpiece grill and hidden sensors.
Back |
The back is made of plastic with matte finish, the main camera can be found on the upper left corner and directly below it is the LED flash. Meanwhile, the company logo is located slightly above the loudspeaker grill. The part where there is lots of trigonometric symbols is the place where you can rest your finger to control your phone from the back.
Back without cover |
Back cover |
Removing the back cover will reveal the micro SD slot, the micro SIM slot and the regular SIM slot. Here you will also find the contact points that are matched on the contact pads found at the back of the cover. Speaking of cover, the small rectangular black pad is the component that makes the back touch technology possible.
Top |
Bottom |
At the bottom you will find the primary microphone while the top holds both the 3.5mm audio jack and the micro USB port.
Left |
Right |
The volume rocker is placed on the left side while the power button is located on the right side.
The O+ 360 has a similar design to most mid to high-end devices of Oplus, a rectangular touch phone with rounded corners. In terms of build quality, there is not much to complain about.
DISPLAY:

Video player, music player and FM radio |
The video player supports different file types and can play up to 1080p video, it is a very basic app, so if you need a more sophisticated player, you can go to Play Store and download one that fits your needs. Meanwhile, the music player is the same O+ music interface found in 8.17, Fab GO and more. On the other hand, the FM radio needs a connected antenna before you can even use it.
Camera and Video:
Camera and Video |
The camera and video share the same interface that we are very familiar with. Their shutter buttons are placed side by side at the lower part of the interface in between the settings button and thumbnail icon. There are several ways on how you can capture a photo, by pressing the on-screen shutter, gesture, voice, smile, timer and of course by using the back touch technology. The last one is relatively useful and convenient, especially when doing a selfie or groupie.

The key selling point of the O+ 360 is the back touch technology, this feature can be enabled or disabled under the system settings. It gives several functions, four in total, first is the double tap to launch the apps, based on my own experience it is very responsive and accurate. Second is the navigation, when enabled, you can use the back touch to navigate on the homescreen, app drawer, browser and more.
Another function is the double click to unlock, when the phone is locked and you touch the back panel twice, it will unlock the phone. Last is the camera function, to take a selfie, touch and hold the back plate, then when you felt the vibration, let it go to take the shot.
