| Moto Z2 Play Launches in PH for Php24,999; Available Starting July 21st |
Earlier today, Motorola Philippines unveiled their newest flagship smartphone for Q3 of this year, the Moto Z2 Play.
The Moto Z2 Play is basically the successor of the last year model, having the same 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD resolution and fully laminated Corning Gorilla Glass on top for protection against scratches. Underneath its very slim 6mm body (or 5.99mm as per Moto, camera bulge not included), is the turbo version of the Snapdragon 625 found on its predecessor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 with 2.2GHz octa core 64-bit processor (previous chipset is clocked at 2.0GHz). The Philippine variant has 4GB of RAM and 64GB as the base storage.
Camera wise, the main shooter on the back has 12MP resolution, f/1.7 wide aperture, and dual-pixel phase detection auto focus (a technology similar to that of the Samsung Galaxy S8). Meanwhile, the front snapper for taking selfies or group selfies is equipped with 5MP f/2.2 module.

This handset is fully compatible with the existing Moto Mods, and will be compatible with the upcoming modules up to 3 years. Speaking of new mods, they showcased the Moto GamePad, which transform the Moto Z2 Play into a gaming console. Moreover, the JBL SoundBoost 2 was also displayed during the event. However, there was no mention about the SRP of these two Mods.
It will be available this coming Friday, July 21, at Lazada, Motorola concept stores and authorized dealers nationwide for Php24,999, that is roughly the same with the international price tag of USD499. Every purchase comes with 'Unlimited Possibilities' gift box that includes liquid nano-screen protector, protective metal bumper, Moto Style Shell Mode, and a selfie stick.
