To celebrate 25 years of design and engineering innovation, Lenovo has introduced the ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 laptop at the Yamato Labs in Japan – the birthplace of ThinkPad.

As a modern laptop aimed to replicate the original version, the ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 flaunts a classic design and sports iconic retro features, including the backlit 7-row ThinkPad Classic keyboard, dedicated volume buttons, multiple status LEDs, and a multicolor logo.

Although it offers a 25-year-old look and features, the ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 can still provide your modern needs. It is powered by an Intel Core i7-7500U processor, and is supported with NVIDIA GeForce 940MX graphics.

“ThinkPad design creates a powerful and synergistic relationship between form and function. It balances sophisticated aesthetics, thoughtfully crafted user experiences and renowned engineering in order to deliver superior products,” David Hill, Lenovo’s former Chief Design Officer, said. “Twenty five years after the introduction of the original 700C, the latest X1 Carbon is immediately recognizable as a ThinkPad.”

Meanwhile, designed by Richard Sapper, the original ThinkPad 700C was released on October 5, 1992, and was inspired by the traditional Japanese bento box. The device has won more than 300 awards, and became a status symbol and necessity for presidents and CEOs.

Available in limited quantities on Lenovo.com and official business partners in select countries, the ThinkPad Anniversary Edition 25 is priced at US$1,899.
