According to a report, the Korean tech giant aims to expand the reach of its smartphone processor platform, eyeing to expand to the mid-range market.

In 2017, Samsung is at number four in terms of global smartphone chip market share. They are behind Qualcomm, Apple, and MediaTek.

To improve its standing, Samsung could be more aggressive as they have additional solutions that they can offer to smartphone brands, including OLED displays, flash and DRAM supplies. This plan gives more pressure to MediaTek, which is currently at third spot.
