A few days ago, we reported that Xiaomi devices will be coming to the Philippines soon, and that "soon" could be earlier than expected. Earlier today, April 11, 2014, at around 7PM, Xiaomi's official Twitter account tweeted that they are hiring Community Managers for India, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

With this tweet, we are now quite sure that Xiaomi smartphones such as the Redmi 1s, Mi3, and Mi2s among others, will indeed coming into the local market. The only question now is when and how. As most of us know, Xiaomi only sells their devices through online channels, such as Lazada. This is one of the reasons why they can sell their products at a much affordable price tag than most competitors. And this is also one of the reasons why they became prevalent and significant in just a short period of time.

However, e-commerce websites are still not popular in the country as well as shopping online. Buying gadgets like Android phones online is still in its infancy, local consumers still love to go around, visit a physical store, and hands-on the devices they want to purchase. Hopefully, when they arrive, they will have offline stores, or at least pop-up stores where interested buyers can test their offerings.

Nonetheless, this is excellent news for Xiaomi fans out there as well as consumers who are looking forward to buying Mi devices that are known for their great specs-to-price ratio.
