INTRODUCTION:

In the age of mobile devices, we can virtually do everything on the go. On top of the usual call and text, we use our smartphones or tablets for other purposes such as web browsing, emails and gaming.

However, we cannot do anyone of these when our gadget runs out of battery, no matter how expensive it is, it will be useless without power. This is one of the reasons why external battery pack or commonly known as power bank is becoming more and more popular.

In the recent storm that hit the metro, we experienced power outage multiple times and I was very much grateful that I have several power banks to keep my devices going. One of them is the Momax iPower GO Mini, it has a 7800mAh capacity with 2.4A output for long lasting and quick charging of your mobile devices.

The left side has the basic information about the power bank while the right side is where the serial number is imprinted. The top has a handle which give the iPower GO mini a more pronounced suitcase design. The bottom is the busiest and most important part, here you will find the standard USB port for the output and the micro USB port for the input.

PERFORMANCE:

LED notification

The iPower GO mini is a plug-to-charge type power bank, there is no power button, which means that once a device is plugged in, it will automatically charge it. When there is no device connected for 30 seconds, it will shut down to save power.

It has 4 LED indicators which represent the remaining power, 4 lights on mean it is fully charged or somewhere near that, 3 lights mean around 75%, 2 lights mean around 50%, 1 light means around 25% and 1 blinking light means its about 10% or less. The indicators will light up when a device is connected or when you shake the iPower.

I fully charge it first before testing, I used an Android smartphone with 2000mAh battery capacity (10% initial charge) and it can fully charge it thrice plus 85% on the fourth charge before its power runs out. All in all this is about 6800mAh or around 87% conversion (advertise rate is 93%).

CONCLUSION:

The iPower GO mini is a very stylish external battery pack which can appeal even to those fashion-oriented individuals. But it is not just about style, it has high capacity and high current output that can deliver the power your mobile devices need at a short period of time.

Momax products are distributed by Digits Trading, the iPower GO mini has a retail price tag of Php2,150 and available through their resellers/partners like Digital Walker and Beyond the Box.
