LG V20 Goes Official; 5.7" QHD Primary Display + 2.1" Secondary Panel, 16MP+8MP Main Cameras

After so many rumors and speculations, the LG V20 finally goes official, bringing in tons of improvements over its predecessor while still keeping the features loved by the V10 fans.

The LG V20 dropped the rugged design of its older sibling, but still able to maintain the same toughness, thanks to the aluminum AL6013 alloy body, it is still MIL-STD-810 shock-resistant compliant. In addition, it has no modular design like the LG G5, but allows consumers to easily replace the battery by themselves by simply prying the back cover.

Like the leaks suggest, it still has the same 5.7-inch Quad HD primary display, the same goes with secondary panel having 2.1-inch screen and 1040x160 resolutions. Underneath, its processing capabilities relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, just like the LG G5, while the RAM and storage are kept pretty much the same as the V10 at 4GB and 32GB/64GB respectively. As reported before, the LG V20 is the first phone to run on Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Camera-wise, the main one at the back inherits the LG G5 dual setup, a 16MP laser auto focus plus an 8MP fixed focus one. What makes it unique over the previous flagship and other smartphone out there, is the Qualcomm's proprietary electronic image stabilization based on gyroscopes, which minimizes, if not removes, the unintentional hand shaking for a sharper and smoother video. Meanwhile, the front-facing shooter is now left with a single piece of 5MP module as opposed to two found on the V10, however, LG claims it still offers wide angle shot, not to mention better low-light performance with its f/1.9 lens.

LG has not announced any pricing yet, while the availability is set for Q3 release in the US, or before the month ends.
