Huawei has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone line, the Mate 10 series, which includes the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and the Porsche Design Mate 10.
Let us start with the Huawei Mate 10, it flaunts a 5.9-inch IPS LCD FullView display that has a typical 16:9 aspect ratio. The handset also joined the industry’s bezel-less trend, and has 2560 x 1440 resolutions, giving 499 pixels per inch.
Inside its 150.5mm x 77.8mm x 8.2mm body is the company’s innovative chip – the Kirin 970, enabling the device to perform AI-related tasks. It is powered by four Cortex A73 clocked at 2.3GHz, four Cortex A53 clocked at 1.8GHz, and i7 co-processor. It is complemented by Mali-G72 MP12 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage.
For some years now, Huawei never disappoints us with its most anticipated camera features. However, this year, the brand has decided to change its core feature. Developed in-house at the company’s HiSilicon semiconductor arm, the Kirin 970 chip features Neural Processing Unit (NPU). The NPU is said to allow the Mate 10 in doing tasks related to AI and deep learning. The company also boasts that in a benchmark recognition test, HiSilicon Kirin 970 processed 2,000 images per minute, faster than other chips in the market.

The Mate 10 still offers a high-end camera setup. Its rear cameras are composed of 20-megapixel Monochrome + 12-megapixel RGB sensors with f/1.6 lenses. It boasts BSI CMOS, dual-LED flash, PDAF + CAF + Laser + Depth auto focus, 2x Hybrid Zoom, and supports 4K video recording. It is equipped with 8-megapixel front shooter, too, with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Mate 10 is priced at EUR €699. Meanwhile, local pricing and availability are yet to be announced.
