Latest mid-range and flagship chipsets that received the update include the Snapdragon 670, Snapdragon 675, Snapdragon 710, Snapdragon 845, and Snapdragon 855. Hence, it allows mobile manufacturers to pack its upcoming smartphones with one of these chips, and deliver up to 192MP camera – if possible.

Smartphone brands banked on their mobile photography, while consumers are also after handsets with good camera offerings. So, having this jaw-dropping feature will surely up the game of our devices.

However, Qualcomm explained that when a company equipped its smartphone with a 192MP sensor, then, it will only sport that single camera. Furthermore, it could not support another sensor, including a selfie snapper.

Also, the ISP must turn off some of its notable features to capture images in this high resolution. Things to compensate include Multi-Frame Noise Reduction, a process of taking multiple photos at the same time, then combining them to reduce noise.

So, what can you say? Is it a hit-or-miss update?
