PLDT and Smart proved their dominance in the Philippines, as various network analytics firms recognized the two companies for having the fastest fixed and mobile networks in the country.

Independent network analytics organizations including Ookla, OpenSignal, Tutela, and P3 gave an award to PLDT and Smart as they have the best service compared with their rivals. This proved their commitment to provide Filipino consumers with a world-class internet whether at home or on the go.

“PLDT and Smart’s superior fixed and mobile networks enable customers to move at the pace of their increasingly demanding digital lifesty – from downloading and uploading work files quickly, surfing the web for news and information, streaming videos and music, to playing action-packed games seamlessly,” Andrew L. Santos, FVP and Consumer Marketing Head for PLDT and Smart, addressed.

According to Ookla’s Q3-Q4 2018 report, Smart achieved a Speed Score of 18.57 with top download speeds of 52.28Mbps, and top upload speeds of 55.95Mbps. It is based on 27.2 million customer-initiated Speedtest in the country.

Meanwhile, the same report revealed that Smart recorded a Speed Score of 15.57 with average download speeds of 17.86Mbps, and average upload speeds of 8.61Mps. It is based on over 2.1 million user-initiated tests with Speedtest on LTE-capable devices nationwide.

Moving on to UK-based OpenSignal recent report covering November 2018 to January 2019, Smart dominated its rival in four out of five categories. Smart claimed the Best Video Experience, Best Download Speed, Best Upload Speed, and Best Latency Experience. On the other hand, it shares similar result with its competition in terms of 4G Availability.

Also, Canadian crowd source mobile data company Tutela tapped Smart as the superior network especially in terms of providing consistent “excellent” quality connections. The telco giant was also recognized by Germany-based P3 communications GmbH as the country’s best download speeds.
