MediaTek has officially launched its new mid-range chipset – the Helio P65.

The Helio P65 features an octa-core processor that is composed of ARM Cortex-A55 and Cortex-A75 CPUs operating up to 2GHz. It is also packed with Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU with 820MHz maximum frequency.

The chipset supports LPDDR3 and LPDDR4x RAM, up to 8GB of memory size, and eMMC 5.1 storage type. For connectivity, it supports Cat-4, Cat-7 DL, and Cat-13 UL LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and Bluetooth 5.0.

MediaTek claimed that its AI performance has been improved 2x compared to its predecessor. It is said to offer up to 30% faster performance versus its rival SoCs in AI-camera activities such as Google Lens, Smart Photo Album, scene recognition and segmentation with background removal, and single or dual camera Bokeh shots.

Moreover, it enables 48-megapixel single camera, and 16MP + 16MP wide and telephoto sensors. It comes with new secure ISP design, as well, which can add new layer of security to facial recognition actions. It gives off professional-grade bokeh effects; Electronic Image Stabilization; and Rolling Shutter Compensation technology, too.
