PHYSIQUE:

When we first got our hands on the LG XBOOM RK7, we were reminded how adventurous and experimental the South Korean brand can be when it comes to their products -- let alone the outer form of its speakers. Solid proofs of this are the LG Sound 360 which looks like a water tumbler, and the LG XBOOM RK7, which might look like an ordinary bulky speaker at first, but it does have its own unique design features that make it big yet versatile.

The LG XBOOM RK7 can easily accentuate any party space with its funky lighting effects which lit up according to the beat of any song, and it can also be used either vertically or horizontally -- a feature that isn’t common to large speakers -- without actually affecting the sound it produces. It also comes with are that promote easy lifting and transfer.

PERFORMANCE:

A party speaker as huge as the LG XBOOM RK7 is the kind that you’d really have big expectations when it comes to performance and we’re glad that this particular speaker did not disappoint.

Our team played a number of songs in different genres to put to test the sound ability of the LG XBOOM RK7 and we found out that its strength lies in its bass, although it also fared well in balancing the sound of vocals and instruments. The reason for this is because this speaker has dual tweeters and dual woofers, which altogether emit 550W of power. Another thing that we appreciated about the LG XBOOM RK7 is it has an FM radio, an addition to a number of sources you can play music from using this speaker.

As mentioned earlier, the LG XBOOM RK7 has special buttons to easily activate its unique features. First off, the LG XBOOM RK7, being the party speaker that it is, can be connected to unlimited wired units of LH, an up to 10 LG XBOOM RK7 when you want to create a wireless multi-room speaker setup.

Through the LG XBOOM app downloadable for free from the Google Play Store, users can be a DJ since it allows adding sound effects and sound looping. The LG XBOOM RK7 also appeals to the local market since it has a Karaoke feature which when used, allows any track to be a sing-along version, and what’s more interesting is the LG XBOOM RK7 allows changing the song key and has voice filters to the preference of the singer.

Maximizing the use of Bluetooth, we also used the LG XBOOM RK7 as the audio source of our television, which we must say, makes the LG XBOOM RK7 as an apt choice for a home theater system, aside from it being a party speaker.
